Welcome to OhioAmateurs.org. This is intended for people who are interested in amateur journalism, writing, printing or publishing. I have been involved in this for over thirty years. I have been a member of the National Amateur Press Association since 1972. I also have been a member of the American Amateur Press Association off and on for over twenty years. The Ohio Amateur Press Guild was formed in the 70’s made up mostly of NAPA members with Bill Boys the leading force. He lived in Mansfield, Ohio when I became involved. After he left the area, the organization was dormant for a while and revived recently by AAPA members, mostly discussing and planning AAPA Conventions in Cleveland and Columbus.
I am hopeful that we can get the two major national organizations together in the same time and place sometime in the near future.
Everyone is welcome in the OAPG. You don’t have to live in Ohio. We have members from Kentucky and West Virginia. I say members but there is no constitution, no officers, no dues. We’re just a group of like minded individuals who occasionally get together when we hav something to talk about.
